  • How do digital books work?
    Free preview versions can be claimed for free and downloaded as a PDF. You can claim your free preview edition rulebook via the store. Full version digital rulebooks can either be purchased for Kindle via Amazon for $18 or accessed online through this website for a $6 monthly fee. Once you have subscribed to a digital book on this website, you can view it via your account profile page. Just look for the digital book's name under your account menu options.
  • Is there a mobile app?
    Not yet. This is something we're working on and hope to offer in the future! Our mobile app goals are to let you access your digital books offline, search game rules, and have an integrated digital character sheet. Stay up to date on this and other developments by following us on our social medias!
  • Why do you offer different rulebooks for different settings?
    We strive to create a game inspired by real settings across the world and throughout history. Although we try to maintain a consistent core rules system across all our rulebooks, it's also necessary for us to alter, add, or otherwise change certain rules to accommodate different settings. Additionally, we don't expect our players to be historians. Instead, we want to give our players the opportunity to learn through our game, which means each setting requires it's own restrictions, options, and themes that we spend time researching and refining so the GM doesn't have to. Presenting a single overarching rulebook would necessitate our rules being overly simple and result in the game feeling unguided, undetailed, and unclear.
  • Are the different rulebooks and character sheets compatible?
    No, they are not. Each rulebook is built from the ground up around a different historical setting using our core rule system as a guide. This means we often have to add, change, and alter rules to appropriately balance the game experience, making each rulebook incompatible with the others. Additionally, we strive to offer our players the opportunity to learn about and, in a limited way, experience various historical settings through gameplay. This means all the options like backgrounds, genealogies, equipment, NPCs, creatures, etc. are chosen specifically to reflect the specified setting, and mixing and matching these rules will not just potentially unbalance the game, it will defeat our stated goal by changing the fundamental setting.
  • Are the player testimonials real?
    Yes they are! We do not edit or alter testimonials that are submitted to us. However, not all testimonials submitted to us are displayed.
  • Can I provide feedback or submit a testimonial?
    Absolutely! Scroll to the bottom of this site and hit the Submit a Testimonial link. That will bring you to a special contact form where you can submit feedback and testimonials. We don't respond to these summations and may or may not decide to display them for marketing purposes, but we are always interested to hear what our players have to say!
  • Can I make my own content using the Fortuna Parcarum ruleset?
    Maybe. We retain the intellectual and commercial rights to our rules, books, and other content, including those we offer for free. You are always welcome to add to, alter, and use purchased content in a personal capacity however you wish, such as at a private group game. However, republishing, profiting from, replicating, publicly sharing, or otherwise publicly using our work requires a licensing agreement from us. We always welcome business inquires and encourage you to reach out if you are interested in making your content with our game! We are a small company and always happy to discuss what you'd like to do and come to an equitable arrangement.
  • Do you have books in other languages?
    Not yet. This is something we definitely want to work on in the future, but we unfortunately do not currently have the staff or resources necessary to translate and format our books for other languages. As a result, we also don't have any kind of timeline planned for this. If you are multilingual and interested in translating our books, please reach out to us! We would be very interested to discuss business options with you and make this happen!
  • What if I have a business inquiry?
    We'd love to hear from you! Whether you're interested in making your own content using our game, want to purchase wholesale, or anything else, we're always willing to discuss options with you. Just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the Business Inquiries link. This will take you to a special contact form to submit business inquires. We strive to always respond when possible but do not grantee responses to business inquiries and do not prioritize them over customer service issues, so please be patient and do not submit multiple forms for the same inquiry. We will get back to you as soon as we have the time to do so.
  • Do you support shipping outside the United States?
    Yes we do! However, our international shipping is not free. It will be calculated at checkout. If the calculated shipping cost is too much for you, we encourage you to check into ordering our rulebooks via Amazon which may be less expensive or looking into one of our low cost digital options!
  • Can I return an order for a refund?
    We have a 20 day like-new return policy. This means you can return your order for a full refund if you start the process within 20 days of your order and it is in like-new, unused condition. It does not need to be in its original packaging. Please have your order number ready when you contact us. We do not pay for packaging and return labels for returns. If your received a damaged item, please see our exchange policy.
  • Can I exchange my order for a replacement?
    Yes, we will replace an item for you if it is damaged when you receive it. You must start this process within 20 days of your order. We may ask for pictures to verify any defects and determine whether or not you will need to return the item to us before receiving a replacement. Please have your order number ready when contacting us for an exchange. If you need to return your item to us, we will pay for and provide you a shipping label, but we do not pay for or provide packaging.
  • What is the returns and exchanges policy?
